Hello, I am Kim Toombs, Chair of the Governing Body.

Did you know that the Governing Body meets 5 times per year?

  • Mrs Clare Brown

    Teaching and Learning Committee

Hi, I’m Clare Brown and I’m a Governor on the Teaching & Learning Committee as well as a Teaching Assistant in school.
Did you know that over £4,000 has been invested on staff training this year?
In addition to individual specialist training, all staff have received training on ‘Zippy’s Friends’ (an emotional, social and mental wellbeing programme), ‘Talk Boost’ (an intervention designed to improve langauge and communication skills) and Autism awareness and inclusion.
Have a look at our last ‘Coalway Kids News’ to find out about our emotions, social skills and Zippy’s Friends work in school.

    Clerk to Governors

Hi, I am Sue Jordan, Clerk to the Governing Body a position I have held for the last 26 years. I also worked as School Administrator for 24 years before retirement. During this time I have been involved with the day to day running of the school and documenting the school’s many achievements and successes over the years. I continue to enjoy the good relationships within school and the childrens’ school life. Recently the Governors and myself were invited to school to meet with the School Council, followed by tea! During the afternoon, governors enjoyed a guided tour of the school, a question and answer session led by the children and the opportunity to share childrens’ workbooks. The children were proud of their achievements, passionate about their learning and excelled in explaining their topic and displays in their classrooms with confidence and enthusiasm. A highlight of the afternoon was children and governors taking part in the daily ‘Coalway burst’ exercise session. The Governors thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and congratulated the children for all of their hard work and thanked them for their kind invitation. The afternoon was a great success and we all look forward to the next time!
